The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice team are taking on The Swim Serpentine on Saturday 19 September. I am super proud to be part of the team of swimmers, along with my grown-up children, Jack and Alice.

Noah’s Ark helps children with serious conditions enjoy the best possible quality of life, while also supporting their siblings, parents and carers. They provide expert clinical, emotional and practical support – at home, in hospital and at The Ark, a state-of-the-art hospice building.

They believe that every child deserves a good quality of life, no matter how short it may be, and are dedicated to being there for every family who needs them. It is the children's hospice for North London.

As a former Consultant Paediatrician at Barnet Hospital for 16 years and now working at Great Ormond Street Hospital, I feel very privileged to have looked after children who have benefitted from the support provided by Noah's Ark, but The Ark needs continued support.

It is very special to me to be swimming with two of my children, as they can remember visiting Barnet Hospital when I was at work, and understood from an early how much I wanted to help children and their families have fun and create special memories.

The Swim Serpentine takes place during the charity's annual matched-funding campaign (From that Moment). All donations received will be doubled, which means double the impact for the families and children that Noah's Ark support.
