Martin House supports children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire. Our vision is that every child and young person has access to palliative care when and where they need it.

Our beautiful daughter, Esta very sadly lost her life in November 2023 due to a missed diagnosis of streptococcus pneumoniae which led to her getting bacterial meningitis, sepsis and meningoencephalitis.

After a long hard week of fighting, heartbreakingly we were defeated by the failings of the LGI and we switched off Esta’s life support and she passed away peacefully between us. Her mama and Daddy.

Martin House gave us the opportunity to spend a whole week with Esta at the hospice after she passed.

We were given a room, Esta had her own cold room and we were all cared for, supported and looked after amazingly.

It was our chance to say goodbye 💔 we will never be able to thank Martin house for giving us this time and care, but we can try do our bit to raise money for them!

We are taking part in the Dragon Boat Race in memory of and to honour beautiful baby girl, Esta Alina High.

We adore you Esta and we will never stop loving and missing you. Our lives won’t ever be the same without you our darling. We will do you proud baby girl 💜
