I will be running the London Marathon 2025 in memory of my precious daughter, Eva, who was born sleeping in February 2018.

My pregnancy with Eva was, up until the end, textbook. I was on a green pathway and being reassured by standard scans and midwife appointments. To then find out that Eva had passed, within a month of her due date, was a devastating shock. 

Knowing I had to give birth to Eva, but that she would not cry when she arrived, was excruciatingly daunting. She somehow made it easy on us both and seeing her for the first time was so special - she was perfect in every way.

My husband and I had our lives turned upside down in an instant. To this day we have no idea how we were able to leave hospital without our baby girl.

Our wish would be that no Mummy or Daddy had to endure the heartache of saying goodbye to their son or daughter far too soon. Sadly though, the number of babies lost to still birth and neonatal death is still far too high. This is why the work of SANDS is so important. It’s vital that parents going through such loss are supported and that there continues to be vital research into the causes of loss, in the aim of preventing it happening.

Eva, every run is with you. It's our time together and, as we train and head into London 2025, I know that you will carry me as much as I continue to carry you. Mummy, Daddy and your little sisters love you so very much! Let’s go!!
