Lyra LOVED animals... ever since she was little, she had a pet. She said everyone deserved one because animals give you unconditional love. She would try and match-make homeless animals with people. She had television segments in whatever market we were in at the time featuring animals that were available for adoption. When she was uber-pregnant in St. Louis, she was out rescuing a stray kitten at 3am when she was supposed to be at work. While the boys were growing up, we fostered and adopted, spent many Sundays at the Zoo, and would often go to pet stores just to “look at the cats and dogs”. Even after the kids got older, just she and I would go to the Humane Society so she could look. She would tell the animals behind the glass and in cages to not worry, someone would adopt them soon.

So... it’s safe to say animals were her passion. Let's celebrate Lyra's life by helping the loves of animals!
