💚🤍 I’m Running the 2026 London Marathon for Scoliosis Support and Research! 💚🤍
So… I’ve officially lost my mind (confirmation date and recollections may vary).
I’ve signed up for the 2026 London Marathon, for my son, and for everyone affected by scoliosis' (and for the families who ride/ survive the emotional rollercoaster that comes with it).
My son lives every day with a severe, over 100-degree “balanced” S thoracic and lumbar scoliosis curve — though honestly, there’s nothing balanced about it. His strength amazes me daily; he just gets on with things the best way he can. I carry a lot of guilt knowing scoliosis can be hereditary — I have a mild lumbar curve under 20 degrees, which is nothing in comparison and yet, I do plenty of moaning!
Life is hard enough; scoliosis makes it next-level hard.
Every day is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge.
It affects how you move, breathe, and even rest.
Simple things like sitting, standing, or walking cause pain, and your body is constantly battling with itself to stay upright. That physical effort alone leaves you exhausted and drained.
So, I’m doing what any “cool mum” would do: I’ve signed up to run 26.2 miles while pretending (and being fully delulu) that my knees, hips, and back aren’t about to stage a major protest.

There will be highs.
There will be lows…… the kind that make me question all my life choices.
And somewhere, on yet another training run, there will definitely be ugly crying — probably over a lost toenail or a wrong turn.
But this isn’t just about running.
It’s about raising awareness, pushing for early detection, and supporting Scoliosis Support and Research — a charity that deserves so much more exposure and recognition for the incredible work they do and the community they build.
This marathon is deeply personal to me. Every mile will be for my boy. 💚🤍
Please support my journey and help make a difference for everyone living with scoliosis, for everyone who’s undergone major, life-changing surgery — and for the families who love them and stand beside them through it all.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and totally secure. Your details are safe — they’ll never be sold or used for unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money goes directly to Scoliosis Support and Research.
Thank you from the bottom of my (slightly terrified) heart for visiting my page and for any support you can give. 💚🤍
