I, alongside the whole world, has witnessed the devastating impact of the relentless bombing by Israel in Gaza since escalation began in early October 2023.

Gazans have endured unprecedented violence, famine, displacement, and hardship. It has left me feeling helpless, but I refuse to stand idly by.

As part of the 'Palestine Emergency Appeal' charity campaign, my community and I are coming together to organise various events to raise funds for Hot Meals for the people of Gaza, inshaAllah.

The situation is dire - with severe shortages of food, water, medicine, and electricity.

Gaza is now on the verge of famine, with 1 in 10 young children now acutely malnourished.

More than 75% of the population has become displaced, with some families forced to move several times in search of safety.

Over 60% of homes have been damaged or destroyed, hospitals are being attacked and most areas are littered with unexploded ordnance.

In Rafah, near the border with Egypt, people are suffering under an unremitting Israeli assault. More than 900,000 Palestinians have been forced out of Rafah and parts of northern Gaza in recent weeks, with most now sheltering in apalling conditions.

Islamic Relief's team and local partners in Gaza continue to face immense challenges but remain committed to delivering vital aid. With a target amount of £10,000, inshaAllah, every contribution counts towards bringing relief to those affected by this crisis.
