Story

On April the 27th of 2025, I’ll be taking part in the London Marathon, in memory of my son; Lewis Marvill. At only 17 years old, too early in life, he sadly passed in a tragic road accident in September 2022.

For this second challenge in memory of my beloved and dearly missed son, I am competing individually rather than as a team like it was the case for the first challenge. The London Marathon's preparation has started last year and is very intense but, in my case, absolutely vital for my wellbeing since Lewis’s passing.

I take this challenge on to keep Lewis’s memory alive and for the charity Brake who helped support us and thousands of others that have had to deal with loss of loved ones on the roads.

By supporting me in this new challenge, you’re supporting the charity Brake which is a national charity working to prevent road death and injury and support those bereaved and injured in road crashes. There are 5 fatalities on our roads every day and hundreds more seriously injured. Visit www.brake.org.uk to find out more about their life-saving work.

I’d like to take this opportunity to firstly thank my family and friends for their everyday support and also during the 24hrs National 3 Peaks Challenge. Secondly, an immense thank you to Centrica and Fleetmaster for their continued support, sponsorship and for believing in me with this second challenge in the memory of Lewis.

Your support, even little, will go a long way! Thank you! Mark.
