Story

‘Walk for Dementia Challenge’: We are looking for at least 100 people to sign up to commit to walking 100 miles in 100 days.

There are just under 10,000 people estimated to be living with dementia in Cornwall, this challenge is as a group, we walk a mile for each person.

Those who know me, know that I am doing this for my husband Simon. Diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia at just 52, this is a journey I would never wish on anyone.

This particular fundraiser is to help set up a service that we, as a family, would have benefited from so much 4 years ago. Somewhere to turn to in Cornwall, to advise on what to do next, to help navigate the impossible, even whilst grieving such a cruel disease. Living with someone with dementia is beyond what I imagined, even working in the business!

I will be running my 100 miles as opposed to walking them, but the challenge is open to all abilities! Join us, or if you can’t, please sponsor us.
