The M25 Big Cycle · 19 May 2024

Mechanics for Africa is a Christian training college, providing young men and women from Zambia's poorest communities with scholarships to gain qualifications in automotive engineering and clerical operations. Our students graduate with great potential, lifting themselves out of poverty.

Story

This May Richard Smith, Matt Fox and Sean Mooney are cycling a full lap of the M25 motorway by adjacent country lanes in a single day. That’s about 150 miles with 5000 feet of climbing (240km and 1500m).

Sean, Richard and Matt are doing this in aid of Mechanics for Africa. Mechanics for Africa is a technical college in the Zambian city of Ndola.

MfA train young people in automotive engineering, equipping them with essential life skills. The students come from some of Zambia’s poorest communities. MfA’s goal: to give the young people skill for a step up in life and a hope for a brighter future.

MfA transforms lives. Their students graduate with great potential, equipped to lift themselves and their families out of poverty, as well as positively contributing to their communities.
