Mac Draycott is raising money for Beaumond House Hospice Care

Colchester Strongman 2026 · 20 June 2026

Beaumond House Hospice Care is a registered charity committed to providing supportive palliative care to patients and their families living in Newark and Sherwood. Outstanding hospice care, enabling our local communities to live well and die well.

Story

Hello. For those who don’t know me, I’m Mac. I am a Newark boy currently hiding out in Essex.

I am 46 years old. I weigh 156kg (that’s 24.5 stone).

After navigating some health issues of my own in 2025, I decided that sitting on the sofa waiting for the next one wasn't an option. So, naturally, I have done the most logical thing possible: I have agreed to compete in Colchester’s Strongest Man in June 2026.

The Plan:

I have exactly 6 months to turn myself from a "large object" into a "human forklift."

Between now and June, I will be attempting to lift Giant Logs, carry massive steel frames, and pull vehicles. The training will be miserable, my hands will be torn to shreds, and I will be eating enough chicken to worry the local farmers.

The Why:

Since I’m going to be in pain anyway, I might as well make it useful.

I am raising money exclusively for Beaumond House Hospice in Newark. They look after our own when it matters most, and I want to send some support back home.

Please donate. If not for the charity, then just to pay to see a 156kg man try to pick up an Atlas Stone without falling over.

Let the 6-month suffer-fest begin.
