Mack's fundraiser for Young Lives vs Cancer

Mack Southern is raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer
At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

My name is Mack and last year at the beginning of November my mum and dad told me that I had a type of cancer called Leukemia - I was 9 years old. I didn't know much about it and was confused because I only went into hospital with a rash. The medicine then made me very poorly and I was in intensive care, I spent over 100 days in hospital. That's a long time, even for someone with leukemia.

I still have leukemia now but I am back at home and have to go into hospital most weeks for chemotherapy. It makes me feel sick and rubbish. Mostly, I miss playing football. I was pretty good and believe it or not I've really missed school. Hopefully, I can go back to school soon and join Year 6.

I am raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer because they have helped my mum and dad lots. They also organise for kids like me to go to cool places like football matches, Chester Zoo and Alton Towers! Me and my dad have organised a night called All that Malarkey which will be fun and after that we will do more fundraising. If anyone would like to donate any money I would be very grateful.

Thank you, From Mack.
