Well...I'm not sure why we thought this activity was a good idea but Chris and I are trying to raise as much money as possible for Hive's chosen Charity Partner, Manchester Youth Zone! After spending time there and most recently doing some volunteering we wanted to help this fantastic charity raise money so that they can continue provide a safe and fun space for the children of North Manchester. Manchester Youth Zone is in Harpurhey, the 2nd worst area in England for the effect of long-term deprivation on children. This means many are vulnerable to poor educational attainment, future worklessness and falling in to antisocial or offending behaviour. MYZ give young people countless opportunities to change that story for themselves.

This amazing facility offers ‘somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to’ for those who children who need it. MYZ provides a place for children to meet new friends and role models, take part in a wide range of activities, be exposed to the possibilities around them, open their horizons to career opportunities and skills and generally be a positive place for them to go where they will be cheered on and supported.
