Skydive for Teenage Cancer Trust

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

In July, I will be stepping out of my comfort zone and doing a tandem skydive at 15,000ft!

I am doing this to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust who supported my second cousin Noah Brown and his family through his 16-month cancer journey. Unfortunately, Noah sadly passed away in August 2022 aged 19 having lost his battle with bowel cancer.

Throughout his illness, which he faced with huge bravery, he and the family received incredible support from Teenage Cancer Trust, whose income comes via charitable donations. And this is why I want to help raise money and awareness for a charity that helps other teenagers, like Noah, and their families through the darkest time of their lives.

Noah's parents Julie and Steve and his sister Kizzy are also campaigning on behalf of Teenage Cancer Trust in Noah’s memory which inspired me to take a leap of faith and do a Skydive. Something I have wanted to do for a long time and am happy to be able to do it for such an amazing charity.

I would like to share a little bit about Noah:

Noah Brown, born April 23, 2003, died August 8, 2022

Noah lived life at 100 miles an hour, sharing his love of music and being the fourth generation of his family to support Halifax Town FC - he always found sitting still a challenge!

Noah was only 17 when he was diagnosed but was never crushed by the news. Instead, he tackled life head-on with strength and bravery. Spending hours comforting friends and family, at a time when he was struggling with his own battles and health. He was treated at St. James's Hospital on ward J94, the Teenage Cancer Trust ward, which is paid for entirely by the charity and has been fully refurbished with young people in mind.

Teenage Cancer Trust is such a worthy charity to support as they not only support youngsters and families with cancer but also educate young people on the symptoms and signs to look out for so that they can seek help and advice at the earliest opportunity.

Any donation would be massively appreciated, no matter how big or small, everything will help me get closer to the £500 target.

Please share this with your friends and family too. Let's all work together to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust!

Thanks,

Mackenzie
