We’re Breast Cancer Now, the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. We’re here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future. By 2050, we believe everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well. But we need to act now.

Story

We are taking part in the #wearitpink 2024 campaign in memory of our much loved, and dearly missed, colleague and friend Katy Mackin.

Always fun, outrageous and up for a laugh, Katy lost her battle against breast cancer in July 2023. There is not a day that passes without someone in the office thinking of her. She is constantly referred to.

#wearitpink day is a fabulous way for us to pay tribute to Katy, whilst raising funds to contribute to essential research in the hope that we can eradicate this devasting disease which, sadly, affects far too many women and their families.

This year, on Friday 18th October 2024, MacPhee & Partners will be doing a 12 hour cycle, between 7am and 7pm, on static bikes in the Fort William office. We know that just the thought of this would have made Katy roll her eyes and utter a few choice words!

We will have two static bikes and staff will take it in turns to cycle, throughout the day, and see how many miles we can cycle in 12 hours.

If you would like to support us, and offer some words of encouragement, you can do so by calling in at our Fort William office, where we will also have some home baking on sale.

If you make a donation, your name will be entered into a prize draw and, you could be in with a chance of winning a fabulous hamper of pink goodies!

Any donations we can gather, in Katy’s memory, will be greatly appreciated.
