I hope you’re all doing well!

On the 26th September 2026, I’ll be completing a skydive to raise money for a charity that is incredibly close to my heart - Supporting Sick Newborns and their Parents (SSNAP). If you know me at all, you’ll know I am absolutely petrified of heights, so this is very much out of my comfort zone!

As a neonatal nurse at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, I witness first-hand the incredible difference SSNAP makes - not just to our families, but to our whole team too.

No one ever expects to find themselves on a neonatal unit. Parents arrive during one of the most frightening and overwhelming times of their lives, and SSNAP are always there to bring a little light into those dark days. They welcome every family with a care package, provide meals and snacks during long hospital stays, organise Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts so no parent feels forgotten and go above and beyond to make sure every family feels seen and supported. They also fund training and development for staff like me, helping us continue to grow and give the best possible care to our very mighty babies!

SSNAP receives no government funding - everything they do relies entirely on the generosity of people like you. That’s exactly why I’m doing this. Every single donation, no matter how small, goes directly towards supporting the families and staff on our unit and it truly makes the world of difference.
