Story
I am running the London Marathon 2024 for Winchester Youth Counselling, a local charity providing vital mental health support to young people aged 11-25. By donating you will help fund counselling sessions, nature therapy and wellbeing drop-in sessions that can make a real difference in the lives of young people facing mental health issues.
Having struggled myself, particularly during my time at uni due to a series of prolonged physical illnesses affecting my lungs, I began therapy which helped me to cope and proved a lifeline for me when my mental health began to deteriorate.
A year ago I started running again to squeeze in exercise between studying for my Masters' exams and to regain the fitness and confidence I had lost when I was ill. It found it massively reduced my anxiety and running has since become a vital tool to manage my mental health.
Now, I am running the London Marathon to celebrate my recovery and give back by raising funds for Winchester Youth Counselling, helping to support the mental health of other young people in the community.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated!
