Story
Hello Everyone,
I am thrilled to share that I will be running my first half-marathon! I have the absolute honour of participating in the Altra Brighton Half Marathon, as part of "Team Beacon Hero". This event is not just a personal challenge for me; it is a chance to support the Sussex Beacon, a specialist facility dedicated to providing care and support for individuals living with HIV.
It is both exciting and a bit scary to think of. Just six months ago, I struggled to run for even five minutes. The past couple of months have tested me in ways I never thought possible. Yet, through this challenge, I have discovered a sense of solitude and strength within myself.
I am running not only for myself but also for loved ones facing their own battles. For those who are struggling with health issues and need hope and encouragement.
I am running for my friends: Debs, Victor, Chuks, Tunji, Chika, Charlene, Kennedy, Philip, and Linda, all of whose friendship, support, kindness and belief have carried me through life.
I am running for every young person out there who feels alone in this beautiful, crazy world. Thank you for your kindness and support as we strive to create a brighter future together.
