Story
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
The charity have four Research Centres of Excellence and their ambition is to have seven, including one in the East Midlands where we live. Each of the Research Centres of Excellence needs £1 million a year to sustain the vital discovery research so desperately needed. That is £2,740 every day, per Centre. We have set an initial target of funding a centre for one day, please help us to reach this, and why not two days?
We are fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.
By helping us to sponsor a day of research, at £2,740 per day, you are helping them to get closer to a cure for brain tumours.
To help raise more funds for Brain Tumour Research, Gemma, Neil, Roma & Heather are doing THE LAP and using this page for their fund raising. The LAP is a 47 mile ultra trail race around Lake Windermere, England's largest and most iconic lake, to be completed in 24 hours. This will take place on 10th and 11th May 2025. They have each personally paid their own entry fee of £120 so that any sponsorship will go direct to Brain Tumour Research and not to cover their costs. We say good luck!
