Madi, Darren and Chris' Brighton Marathon Giving Page

Brighton Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·
In 2017, shortly after his 15th birthday, our son and brother Joe was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. We are forever indebted to the experts at the Royal Marsden, King's College Hospital and the Royal Sussex who made him better and gave him back a normal life. We are also eternally grateful to a small Sussex based charity, Children With Cancer Fund, who we are running for in the Brighton Marathon on the 7th April 2024 with our close friend Chris.
CWCF provides support to children with cancer and their families. They do this by organising events and short breaks for families to provide some fun and light relief during a distressing time. These events gave our family the opportunity to get together with others going through similar experiences and build a support network.
As well as group events, individual wishes are granted. We were treated to some lovely experiences such as watching England at Wembley, a week away in Bournemouth and visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
CWCF also kindly helped us with a parking permit for the hospital.
Please help us support this wonderful local charity, so that they can continue to bring rays of sunshine to the lives of children and families affected by cancer as they did for us. Any donation, no matter how small will make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our Just Giving page.
About Children With Cancer Fund (Polegate)
CWCF was set up in 1998 by Ursula & Chris Downton with Kirsty & James Denny. Now, with the help of other friends and family, we still go out having fun raising funds to grant wishes to families that live in East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and who have children that have been diagnosed with cancer.
