Story
Our support for the last event resulted in over 120% of our goal, helping this critical charity with the most poorly of youngsters.
Thank you for the support, the charity, we as a group & us as individuals are so thankful for every bit of support that we get.
So now we are going for a really tough one with over 5,700 meters of climbing and 4 long days to further support this cause.
In September 2026, 3 lads from Boothstown and Atherton are doing a monumental bike ride 340 miles from Bilbao to Madrid in 4 days!
We will fly to Bilbao, rest & then hit the long road, over 5,700 meters of STEEP inclines in the shade of the Pyrenees Mountains, arriving in Madrid with our fellow riders.
Since the pandemic & even now in these challenging financial times, charity is sometimes over looked - but that doesnt stop little children getting poorly & while we are clearly asking for donations, of any size - we're prepared to put something in too, in fact 4 days of hills & long roads, long days & very sore saddle rash! But its worth it, this is a fantastic charity.
Lots of us have children and thankfully - when they get ill its not serious most of the time, but for others - sometimes this illness requires the precise expertise and research that this charity bases its entire reason around - many breakthrough treatments have come around through the work they do funded by events like this, they work day and night to solve the problems that none of want to encounter. Saving very poorly children's lives.
Its going to be a pretty tough ride, but as always, I'm sure it will be pretty along the way. We will of course share our photo's and MOST of the stories here on the page for you to track our progress..
No donation is too small. Every penny is appreciated & will go directly to this charity... so please, if you can - give anything you can...
Action Medical Research is a UK-wide charity funding vital research to help sick and disabled babies and children. They fight for answers that can lead to cures, treatments and medical breakthroughs for some of the toughest fights our children face.
And all we have to do is brave those mountain climbs.
