Story
In April I will be running the London marathon for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice a charity I hold so close to my heart.
In August 2024 when Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, with no treatment options available, we had to accept the devastating news he had weeks to short months to live.
Initially Rennie Grove Peace Hospice cared for Dad in our family home and when his needs came too great they welcomed him into their inpatient unit. But it was not only dad, the hospice embraced us all as a family and in his final 2 weeks they put up beds for us all including our dog Pippa who became a beloved hospice dog for patients and staff aswell.
Rennie grove peace hospice transformed what was an unimaginably difficult time into a period of love, support and precious memories.
My dad’s courage and the care we received will forever hold a special place in my heart and I will be eternally grateful for this hospice that made his final days so peaceful.
So to give back I’m taking on the challenge of running the London marathon in honour of my Dad and to raise vital funds for this incredible charity.
Every step I take will be for him, and for the countless other families who find themselves needing the same support we did. Please donate anything you can and thank you for your support💜
