Story
Homelessness and rough sleeping is on the rise. The annual London Walk brings the city's homelessness charities together to walk as one and raise awareness, as well as much-needed funds. So I'll be walking a half-marathon overnight for The Connection at St Martin’s in-the-Fields - a fabulous charity that does amazing work empowering people who are pushed to the edge, helping them move away from the streets for good.
Any contributions you can make will directly help The Connection in its work. For example:
- £5 can provide a shower, meal and clothes cleaned
- £25 could fund one hour with a key worker
- £50 could fund a night in accommodation
Reaching my fundraising target of £350 could provide a vulnerable homeless rough sleeper with a course of specialist one-to-one mental health support sessions which will help them to positively cope with their problems and move forward. This is where The Connection's work can have the most impact: two thirds of homeless people living on the streets have mental health problems which are often severely hindering their ability to move on from the streets.
Thank you so much for any support you can give!
