Travel miles in their shoes - team walk/run/cycle/swim
When most people think about a person experiencing homelessness, they probably have a vision of someone sleeping in a doorway or on a street corner. But where are those rough sleepers when those corners are empty?
People who sleep rough walk between 10 and 15 miles every day, worldwide studies show. Every day they will pick up their beds and trudge mile after mile. Often, it’s to avoid abuse or perhaps boredom or because they are moved on by authorities.
To help raise awareness of homelessness and the miles people have to tread, the people at Magenta Associates, a Brighton based communications consultancy that specialises in the built environment, are taking on the challenge to travel 10-15 miles a day, whether that be through walking, running, cycling or swimming, to raise funds for The Clock Tower Sanctuary.
The Clock Tower Sanctuary is the only drop-in service providing information, advice and support to young people aged 16-25 experiencing homelessness in Brighton & Hove. The charity works with young people to help prevent further decline, unlock their potential and get their lives back on track.
£10 can pay for a young person to have a shower, wash their clothes, have a hot meal and talk to our specially trained volunteers. Thank you for helping young people experiencing homelessness in Brighton & Hove to be safe, secure and happy.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
