A Place for Peace and Meditation:

The London Mahamevnawa Meditation Centre is being established: a welcoming space to meditate, to learn the teachings of the Supreme Buddha, and to join in chanting that calms the heart.

Why This Centre Matters:

This is about well being for everyone reducing stress, building patience and compassion, improving focus in our studies and professions, and deepening understanding of life.

Transforming an Old Building Into a Sanctuary:

As a community, we came together to purchase an old building and transform it into our meditation centre. The building is under refurbishment right now, and we hope to complete the urgent works soon.

How Much We’ve Raised — and What’s Left:

Thanks to incredible generosity, we have already raised about 80% of the total refurbishment cost.

We now need support to raise the final 14% - £60,666.

What the Completed Centre Will Include:

When complete, the centre will include a Buddha Shrine Room, a Dhamma Hall for teachings and meditation, a Dhamma Library, accommodation for monks, an alms hall and kitchen, and the practical facilities needed to welcome everyone safely and comfortably. Please watch the Video for more details.

This centre is 100% donation based. All are welcome. No one owns it and no one profits from it. It is run by the community, for the community, so that people today and future generations can find peace in a busy world.
