Story
My granny (Omi) passed away in 2023 at the age of 97 -a remarkable lady with a remarkable story. At the end of WW2, she was a refugee in Germany and spoke of how the Red Cross supported her and her family at that time. In the few years before she died she raised hundreds of pounds for the Red Cross by knitting and selling hats to give something back to this cause.
The Red Cross do incredible work, both in the UK and around the world - on the scene of natural disasters and in war zones, supporting refugees, training the public in first aid and befriending the lonely and vulnerable in society to list just a few.
I am proud to be playing a small part in raising money so that this work can continue. Please give generously to help propel me round the miles, not just in London but the hours of winter training that come before it!
