Mel's Collection for St Columba's Hospice Care

Malcolm Coull is raising money for St Columba's Hospice Care
In memory of Melanie (Mel) Coull
St Columba’s exists to give everyone who needs it the very best Hospice Care. We provide support to patients and their families in our hospice facility and reach out to people in their homes and local communities. We couldn’t do it without our amazing supporters!

Story

Melanie (Mel) Coull passed away in St Columba's Hospice on the 5th February 2026. Leaving behind her husband, 3 young kids, her mum and brother and many beloved friends and colleagues who will all miss her dearly.

Mel had a brave battle from when she was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in February 2024. Unfortunately for Mel she was giving the bad news at the end of September 2025 that she now had stage 4 breast cancer as it had spread to Brain, Lung, Liver and Kidneys.

I'm sure many of you who can't manage the funeral would like to contribute to our collection for this hospice which is the place Mel actually spent her last week.

St Columba’s Hospice Care provides palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. We’re an independent charity at the heart of our local community and have been offering free, flexible and person-centred care and support to our patients and their families for over 40 years.

You can find out more about all of our services and the work we’re doing across Edinburgh and the Lothians by visiting our website www.stcolumbashospice.org.uk.
