Raising money to help end child poverty

Louise Tamadon-Nejad is raising money for Pelican Parcels

Brighton 10K 2026 · 12 April 2026 ·

Pelican Parcels' vision is a community in which families and carers all have the essentials for their children. We take items from families that no longer need them and given them to those that do. We help pregnant mums and children from birth up to the age of 12 in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.

Story

At Pelican Parcels, they believe that every child deserves access to the essentials they need to thrive. Based in Brighton & Hove, the dedicated team works tirelessly to recycle pre-loved items for babies and children aged 0-12. They collect these items from families who no longer need them and ensure they reach those who do. Volunteers sort through toys, clothes, books, furniture, and equipment, sharing these vital resources with families in need.

The vision is a community where every family and carer has the essentials for their children. They are on a mission to alleviate poverty by providing both new and preloved children's essentials to those who require support. However, they cannot achieve this alone. As I prepare for the Brighton 10K on April 12th, 2026, I invite you to join me in making a difference.

I am aiming to raise £500 to help sustain these efforts and expand reach within the community. Your support can help Pelican Parcels continue providing essential items that can change lives. Together, let’s create a brighter future for our children by ensuring they have what they need to grow and flourish.
