Story
In May 2027, we mark a profound milestone — the 10th anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing, an event that forever changed lives and left an indelible mark on our city. As members of the Manchester Survivors Choir CIC, we come together to honor this moment with a special 10th Anniversary concert at Bridgewater Hall on 23rd May 2027. Alongside this, we are launching the Bee Busy project, inviting children, families, and community groups to knit 2,000 bees. This creative and calming activity not only fosters mental health and reduces isolation but also symbolizes hope, kindness, and unity — values that have become synonymous with Manchester’s Worker Bees since the tragedy. Although the worker bees have always been part of Manchester’s history.
The need for support is clear. The Youth Service at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital plays a vital role in helping young people facing long-term health and mental health challenges. Launched in 2022 by the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, this service empowers youth to navigate their conditions with confidence and resilience. It offers guidance through appointments, understanding their health journey, and connecting with peers who share similar experiences — helping them feel less alone during difficult times.
We ask you to join us in turning remembrance into compassion and action. Every bee sold contributes directly to raising funds for this essential Youth Service. Our goal is to raise £50,000 by our concert date on 23rd May 2027. Your generous support will help ensure that young people receive the care they need when they need it most — not just here in Manchester but as a model for hospitals everywhere.
Together through shared experience, creative expression, and community connection, we have built a safe space where survivors and families can heal and grow stronger. Now we invite you to be part of this journey — help us make a difference by donating today.
