Maurice Moore, our Commercial Director was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer just before Christmas. Although tested for Secondary Bone Cancer, this one came through negative so fortunately for Maurice it is only the prostate cancer to deal with and as it was caught early, and treatment should take 3 -4 months.

Maurice, through talking to his consultant has agreed to trial The Pace-Nodes’ Therapy; a higher dose Treatment over one week rather than four. This could help others in future reduce their period of radiotherapy given. Maurice is upbeat for this next journey in his life.

Some men are not so lucky. More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year in the UK. This equates to 142 a day, or nearly 6 every hour. From those diagnosed, more than 12,000 tragically lose their lives.

Each year Prostate Cancer UK, organise a month long event; ‘Run the Month’, which encourages everyone to run/walk/cycle the length of a marathon that month. 26.2 miles.

To support Maurice with his treatment, and to raise some much needed funds along the way, Team Mandale members will be running/walking/cycling at least 26.2miles for the month of February.

All staff have taken up the challange so we have set a target of 1,000 miles to be completed within the month!
