Mandip, Kripa & Jit are combining adventure with purpose by trekking to Everest Base Camp & raising funds for women's education!
🏔️ Trekking with a purpose - The U-GO MISSION
U-GO HELPS ambitious and promising young women in low-income countries to pursue tertiary education by providing financial scholarships funded by individuals and corporations in high-income countries
Since launch just under three years ago, scholars have quadrupled, starting with 959 in year one, to 2,500 in 2023, and then 4,320 in 2024
📚 Empowering Women, Empowering Futures - The U-GO VISION
U-GO ENVISIONS A WORLD in which many more young women in low-income countries have the opportunity to pursue university education, thus creating increased earnings and better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities
A 98% advancement rate is indicative of: (a) the quality of the screening process done by our in-country partners; (b) the work ethic of the U-GO scholars and (c) the importance they place on their education and their gratitude to U-GO’s funders
✨ U-GO The Charity
All donations go to the scholarship program. Every US$800 raised funds one more ambitious and promising young woman for a year to achieve her university dream
The global Board cover all admin and fund-raising expenses. The CEO, CFO, CMO, Board members & volunteers don't take a salary, they donate their time and energy for the cause
The challenge - in 2024 applicants for scholarship reached 30,000, for qualified young women across 9 partner countries. U-GO does not take pride in a low acceptance rate and believe that every young woman who has gotten this far should be given the encouragement to keep going. U-GO has been working hard to raise funds around the world, and for 2025 are hoping (contingent on fundraising going well) to welcome at least 2,400 more young women into the U-GO family
