Story
Dad known as Eddie, worked as a Butcher until he retired.
He used to go fishing with his friend Colin off the coast in Caister on Sea.
Boxing day, known as the day for adults was the only day of the year he would take a drink of Brandy, I recall him sat with a drink in one hand and roll up in the other.
Father of 6 children, he was a calm man, and rarely spoke ill of people. He had a Pug named Sandy which he adored, he also loved watching cartoons and he found Bugs Bunny particularly funny.
When I was a child I used to sit on his lap, sucking my thumb and twiddling his hair, he used to ask me if I could comb his wavy hair straight It took a long time to cotton on he liked having his hair combed!
Sadly I did not visit my Dad in his latter life, I rarely travelled back to Norfolk. Irrelevent now, but I was always a 'Daddy's girl' When he married Judy, he was a happy man, raising Haidee (Judy's daughter) as his own.
Dad was living with Alzeihmers and Vascular dementia. I will be running two tunnels half marathon in Bath to raise money 2 days after Dad's funeral and I hope to serve him proud and raise much needed donations for continued research and potential treatments which are progressing every day.
