Story
This year I'm taking on the challenge of running the Great North Run.
I paid for my own place because I wanted to support a cause that means so much to me, and I've committed to raising money for dementia research and support along the way.
Although I run regularly, I've never completed a half marathon before. My training is well underway, and I'm fully committed to crossing that finish line, even though I know it will be one of the biggest physical challenges I've taken on.
I'm running in memory of my mother-in-law, who we lost to dementia. I'm also running for my mum, who is currently living with this cruel disease. Watching someone you love slowly fade away is heartbreaking, and it's something no family should have to face.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support the fight against dementia and make a difference to those affected by this devastating condition.
Thank you so much for your kindness, encouragement and support. It truly means the world to me.
