As well as a regular runner, my other passion is scuba diving. Having spent nearly 30 years exploring the underwater world, with over 2,000 dives across more than 20 countries, I find myself continually drawn back to Asia, particularly Indonesia. This vibrant region is home to an incredible variety of marine life, including colourful coral reefs, sharks, turtles, and rays.

However, the future of sea turtles and their habitats is under threat. Six of the seven existing turtle species inhabit Indonesian waters, with five regularly nesting on its beautiful beaches. The Turtle Foundation UK is working hand-in-hand with local communities to ensure a future where both sea turtles and people can thrive together.

To support this mission, I am participating in the London Marathon on April 27th, 2025. My goal is to raise awareness and funds for the Turtle Foundation by running the marathon dressed as a turtle! Yes, that’s right—26.2 miles in a turtle costume! Additionally, I aim to set a Guinness World Record for being the fastest turtle to complete a marathon!
