Dear friends,

When I was little, I would disappear into the world and characters of the book I’m reading. Books were few and far between so when I got my hands on a new book I would read it over and over again, finding new phrases or details I’ve missed. Dreaming about hidden treasures and adventures that I would then reenact with my friends while we play in our neighbourhood.

It was magical. Books are magic. Over the years, they made me laugh and cry tears of joy, reminisce and even grief. It had the power to move like no other and inspire great things.

Almost a million children in the UK do not own a book of their own. The Children’s Book Project want to change that. They believe that every child deserves access to a world full of words and stories, sparking imagination and curiosity, building communication and emotional skills and helping to transform future life chances.

The charity collects new and lightly used books from families and publishers and gifts them onwards to children growing up in poverty. Every book donated to the Children's Book Project can help another child to see themselves as a reader.

This year they will gift at least one million books to children who need them most. Any donations possible to support their work would be greatly appreciated!

I cannot think of a better way to support our children and the next generation. Please help me in making this dream come true, every child should have thier own book to inspire them to write their own story.
