Story

On 8th October, I'll be taking on a four-day running challenge at Cader Idris in Snowdonia National Park to raise awareness and funds for Prisoners Abroad.
Across the four days, I'll run 105km, representing the 105 countries where the charity supports British citizens affected by overseas imprisonment. I'll also climb 4,070m of elevation, with every vertical metre representing one of the 4,070 people supported through Prisoners Abroad's overseas, family, and resettlement services.
Behind every number is a person with a unique story. Many of the individuals supported by Prisoners Abroad face immense challenges before, during, and after imprisonment overseas. Their experiences are often invisible to most of us, yet they deserve compassion and practical support to help them move forward and rebuild their lives.
If you're able to contribute any amount, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps Prisoners Abroad continue to provide life-changing support to people and families facing some of life's toughest circumstances.
Being in contact with Prisoners Abroad has helped a lot. Especially with the stress and anxiety which my family and I had about returning to the UK after more than 30 years here in Australia. The support, help with accommodation, employment, healthcare, education and just knowing that I'm not on my own." - Someone we supported on return to the UK from prison in Australia.
