Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the London Marathon 2026. Yes I’m putting myself through this yet again!

Many of you know that I like to travel quite a bit. As amazing an experience as this has been, it's also been an eye opening one, witnessing the struggles many people around the world face with homelessness, addiction, and mental health. This has also become more evident here in the UK in recent years, especially in my own home town.

These experiences have not only reminded me of how fortunate and blessed I am, but have reinforced my resolve to do my part to try and help fight these issues and so this year, I'm running to support the Salvation Army, a well known and fantastic charity that works in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world, providing unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need.

They work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction. With times as difficult as they have been over the last few years, their work is needed now more than ever!

Never one to make these things easy for myself, I'll be making and wearing my own annoying costume again. As if last year wasn't torturous enough, this time I'm cranking it up yet another level and going as Optimus Prime from the Transformers.

It's going to be 3D printed in solid plastic again and weigh even more than my last outfit and be even less flexible so there will be a fair bit of chaffing! But the pain is all worth it to support this fantastic cause!

So please could you make the pain worthwhile and dig deep and help me support this great cause.

Your donations will really help to support a fantastic charity and their important work and are hugely appreciated. Please don't forget to tick the GiftAid option as this adds to your donation from the Government and every bit helps!

Thank you so much!
