Story
The team at Mannok Cement will hold a fundraising walk in memory of their late colleague, Gregory Cassidy, who sadly passed away on 1st August 2025 following an illness.
Maintenance Supervisor Gregory was a long serving and highly respected member of the cement division, having joined the company in 1993 and carrying out various roles. Throughout his many years with Mannok, Gregory was known for his deep commitment to his work and for the positive impact he had on everyone around him. A true professional, Gregory took great pride in everything he did, always striving to complete every task to the best of his ability. His friendly manner, thoughtfulness, and determination made him a valued colleague and a trusted friend to many. He had a natural ability to connect with people, whether through his witty sense of humour or his patient and supportive approach with new staff and especially apprentices.
Gregory had a particular kindness towards our colleagues from the Philippines, taking them under his wing on their arrival and helping them feel at home within the team. Gregory was a man of his word, earning the respect of all who worked with him - a respect that was powerfully reflected in the Mannok guard of honour formed outside St. Michael’s Church in Enniskillen during his funeral. His loss is felt deeply across the company, both professionally and personally.
To honour Gregory’s memory and the lasting contribution he made to Mannok, the team will hold a memorial walk up Cuilcagh on Saturday 4th April 2026. The event, which will include Gregory’s family and friends, will raise funds for Cancer Connect Enniskillen, a cause close to the Cassidy family’s hearts. Family meant everything to Gregory, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, Catherine, and his children, Patrick, Jonathan, Nicole and Rebecca, as well as the wider family circle.
Gregory will be fondly remembered as much more than a colleague - he was a true gentleman whose presence enriched the lives of all who had the privilege to work alongside him.
