Story
On Saturday 31 October, the team and board behind Mansfield Forward BID are swapping the town centre for the top of Wales. We're climbing Snowdon — Yr Wyddfa — all 3,560 feet of it.
WHY THE CHILDREN'S BEREAVEMENT CENTRE
When a child loses someone important to them — a mum, a dad, a brother, a sister, a grandparent — the world stops making sense.
The Children's Bereavement Centre in Newark is there for those children. It supports young people aged 3 to 18, and their families, through the death or terminal illness of someone close to them. Play therapy. Memory books. Group sessions and workshops. A safe place to grieve, to talk, and to begin finding a way forward.
It's a small, local charity doing extraordinary things, and it runs on fundraising and donations. No child should have to wait for that kind of help.
WHAT YOUR DONATION DOES
£25 could pay for one play therapy session for a child
£50 could buy crafts and toys to help children express their grief
£100 could help provide memory books — a child's own place to keep the person they've lost
Whatever you can give goes straight to work for a child in Nottinghamshire.
And if you're a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid box on your way through. It adds 25p to every pound you give, and it doesn't cost you a penny.
WHY US
Mansfield Forward BID exists to champion our town centre and the businesses in it. But being part of a place means more than footfall figures and events — it means turning up for the people around us. Newark is on our doorstep, and the families the Centre supports could just as easily be our neighbours, our customers, our own.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Donate whatever you can, however small — it all adds up.
Share this page with anyone who might chip in.
Follow along on the day — we'll be posting from the mountain, signal permitting.
Thank you. Every share and every pound gets us closer to the summit, and gets a child closer to the support they need.
