Manu Runs a 10k for Mazí Housing 2024

Athens Marathon · 10 November 2024 ·
After a 10 year hiatus since my one and only (half) marathon, I have succumbed to peer pressure, the promise of "carb loading" and the chase of the elusive "runner's high". I'm no fool (sorry team!) and will be running the Athens 10K this time, but who knows... if I find that pot of pasta at the end of the rainbow you might just find me here again next year.
But now for the main reason why I am doing this: I am running to support Mazí Housing, a grassroots charity that works with young men who are travelling alone in Greece.
Mazí runs two apartments in the city, providing a safe place to live for 40 young men every year.
Mazí support residents to deal with health and mental-health concerns, develop skills, find work & pursue goals. This breaks the cycle of homelessness, helping each resident to leave prison-like camps, precarious basements, and rough-sleeping on the streets, for good.
I am running for Mazí Housing because I know that our homes are the foundation of our lives. That Mazí brings choice to young asylum seekers who need help and care to make the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
Please help us run an apartment through 2025. Your support is vital to keep Mazí houses running. After all, providing stable housing isn't a sprint, it's a MARATHON (or in my case, a 10K)!
