A long road, but worth it in the end.

Martin Spencer is raising money for Respect for All CIO

Marathon Eryri · 25 October 2025

Respect for All works across Greater Manchester to enhance the mental health and wellbeing of learning-disabled people, ADHD, autistic people and their families and carers of all ages, by providing a specialist neurodiverse counselling service, which is tailored to the needs of the individual

Story

Martin is a collection of two bad knees, a creaky back, dodgy shoulders and a rugby playing body that is far too heavy for running. Yet despite this he has decided to enter a marathon.

He’s never run more than 15 miles before so obviously it makes sense to do a really hilly one in North Wales, in October. He’ll take a coat.

Martin has spent at least the last ten years working with autistic people in a variety of capacities including as a counsellor with Respect for All. He has seen the benefits gained when people have the specialist counselling they need. He hopes that you will spur him on up Pen y Pass, through Beddgelert, and over the hill to Llanberis by donating to this wonderful charity.
