Story
In May I will be running a half marathon in memory of my oldest friend whose friendship and presence was incomparable to me, but also to many others; Honor Edwards.
I don’t want to contribute to the online glorification of a life so tragically lost because so many people have been ripped apart by losing her and a year and a half on the pieces aren’t just being picked up, they’re still very much falling apart.
Honor took her life on the 25th of November 2022, soon after she turned 20.
However, as those first childhood friendships often are, our friendship was intense in the way we felt we could be anyone, do anything, imagine everything. And that’s how most people saw her: she lived harder than most. Many days she lived in a sort of kaleidoscope of life packed together so intensely and beautifully. Behind this, she also tried very hard to raise awareness for MIND to prevent others having to go through the prolonged and intense struggle she did. The least I can do for her now is share her campaign, and her family’s campaign, and help continue her crusade.
It feels so important to try and emphasise how wonderful a person she was, but also very difficult without having experienced her charisma, warmth, fun and genuine selflessness firsthand.
I’m going to run the Wimbledon half marathon in May with my friends Evie and Liv, and I’ll be fundraising for MIND - the charity Honor chose when she ran.
Any support would be greatly appreciated and it means the world to me that Honor's impact continues to live on.
