Story
Hi, I’m Ben and I’m 9 years old.
A little while ago I found an injured hedgehog in our front garden.
I knew she needed help, so my family and I took her to Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital near Chichester.
Sadly, she died from her injuries.
I was really sad because I wanted her to get better.
I decided that instead of just being sad, I wanted to do something to help other animals that might need Brent Lodge.
So I’ve set myself a challenge.
🏃 I’M RUNNING A MARATHON!
During October I’m going to run 26.2 miles – the distance of a full marathon.
I don’t have to run it all at once. I’m going to spread the miles throughout October and fit them around school, football, my birthday and our family trip to Holland.
There are some special runs planned too!
⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion match days
🎂 My 10th birthday on 19 October
🇳🇱 A special run at Efteling in Holland on 28 October
🎃 And my final run on Halloween, when I’ll be running in costume!
I’m calling my challenge:
MARATHON FOR SPIKEY PRICKLE
I’m raising money for Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital because they care for injured and orphaned wildlife and try to give them a second chance to return to the wild.
If you would like to sponsor me, please donate whatever you can.
Every donation will help Brent Lodge continue looking after wildlife that needs their help.
Thank you for supporting me!

26.2 miles. One month. One little hedgehog’s story.
