The Wales Marathon and Marathon Eryri

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

One of my oldest and most beloved friends, Marcus, suffered a traumatic brain injury on Saturday 3rd June 2023. He is currently in intensive care and is not conscious. We don't know what the future will hold, but there are plenty of people who love him and who are cheering him on.

I have two marathons coming up: the Wales Marathon on Sunday 2nd July 2023 and Marathon Eryri on Saturday 28th October 2023. I'm going to run both barefoot, because that's how I roll.

I am raising money for Headway, a UK charity which supports people with brain injuries, and their families.

I can't add a second charity to this page, but if I could, I'd add Addenbrooke's Hospital too. Marcus is receiving wonderful care there. You can donate to them here: https://act4addenbrookes.org.uk/donate/
