Story

10 years ago, I ran the London Marathon for The Js Hospice - a small charity in Essex that does a huge amount of good for local patients and their carers.

When I reached the finish line I said (wheezed) aloud - "Running? Completed it mate", lit a cigarette, and proceeded to not run again for 9 and a half years...

In an attempt to get fit, thinner, and feel younger than my bastard DoB tells me I am; I decided to take part in another Marathon (Brighton this time) and run once again for The Js.

Although they are set up slightly differently after forced changes during COVID, they still aim to bring young adults with life-limiting conditions and their carers together through, inclusive, enriching experiences — from music therapy and art sessions to away days. Their mission is to reduce isolation, build community, and offer every young adult the chance to thrive.

Please donate what you can for this wonderful cause, as anything and everything will help them improve the lives of the people they support.

A huge thank you to everyone. Wish me luck completing running for good this time.
