Marc Sterry is raising money for Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside
In memory of Alice Aguiar

Triple Half marathon · 26 October 2025

Alice’s WonderDance exists to carry forward the vibrant, joyful legacy of Alice Aguiar; a fearless, expressive, and generous dancer who moved through life with rhythm, light, and compassion.

Story

Hi, I’m Marc Sterry. I’m 46, married, a proud grandfather of two.

My link to Alice’s WonderDance is through my wife, who was one of the family liaison officer to Alice Aguiar’s family following the tragic Southport attack in 2024. Through that role we got to know Alice’s parents, Alex and Sergio, and I had the privilege of supporting them during the London Marathon in April this year. Watching Sergio run in Alice’s memory inspired me to take up running myself, and over the past four months I’ve been training hard, step by step, to follow in his footsteps.

I’m hoping to secure a place in the London Marathon, but in the meantime I’ll be running 3 half marathons. The 1st the Aintree racecourse half marathon on the 28th September and the 2nd Lisbon Half Marathon on 26th October 2025, followed by the 3rd on the 15th November in Liverpool. Running doesn’t come naturally to me — it’s a huge challenge — but each run reminds me why I’m doing this.

Alice’s WonderDance Foundation was set up in Alice’s memory to give children from all backgrounds the opportunity to dance by providing financial support. Alice loved to dance, and this charity keeps that joy alive by helping other young people experience it too.

Every donation, big or small, will help children access dance lessons, costumes, and opportunities they might otherwise miss out on. Please support me in raising funds for this wonderful cause — and help keep Alice’s spirit alive through the gift of dance.

Thank you so much for your support.

Marc

From Alice’s parents Sergio & Alex

Alice’s WonderDance, is a foundation created and inspired by the name of our Daughter Alice Da Silva Aguiar who we tragically lost last July 2024 in the Southport attack. Since that day nothing has returned or will ever be the same again.

But we don’t look back with sadness — we move forward with purpose, spreading the same energy and love that Alice brought to every space she danced in.

We believe dance is more than movement, it’s freedom, creativity, connection, and joy. Our work removes barriers so that every child can access dance, explore their passion, and grow through movement in a safe, empowering space.

All funds raised will go directly to Alice’s WonderDance Foundation, delivered in partnership with the Community Foundation Lancashire and Merseyside.
