Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
11th November happens to be my birthday. It is also Remembrance Day, a solemn day in which we honour those who have served in the armed forces. Way back in the past, I used to take the day off for a solo adventure, like a walk in the mountains around Caracas where I lived, that type of thing.
This year, I’m returning to that tradition and I’m planning to celebrate my birthday running. I’m turning 65, which feels like a bit of a milestone, so I’ll be running 65 kilometers. My plan is to start around 7am, aiming to finish within 8-9 hours, hopefully before dark, that’s the idea at least.
I’m fortunate to have friends joining me for parts of the run, and we may even have a "Forrest Gump moment" as I finish the route through the heart of Oxford.
In the spirit of Remembrance Day, I’m using this milestone as an opportunity to support The Veterans Association. This charity supports those who have put their lives on the line to protect our families and way of life. If you feel inspired, I would deeply appreciate any small donation you can make to this cause.
And if you happened to be in Oxford and want to run with me, get in touch!
