How I got here is a long story, and the lesson in it is this: don’t be afraid of reaching out to ask the daunting question. It’s not every day that the answer is a spot waiting for you to run not only a once-in-a-lifetime race in a destination city, but to do it in support of an amazing cause.

Enter me: a depressed recent college graduate working her first big kid job all alone in a new big city found herself really needing a companion (or two) to ease the stress of empty space. I thought to myself, “Why not a little fluff ball to hang out with?” This decision changed my life in such a positive way. The privilege of coming home to my two cats, Vivian and Delilah, not only softened the edges, but gave me purpose.

A year later and I’m hit with a wave of needing to pay it forward for all the wonderful things in my life. I asked the MSPCA that golden question: can I run for you? The enthusiastic “Yes!” was resounding. I'm inspired by the work of the MSPCA-Angell and wanted to support them by raising money. Without them, I wouldn’t have one of my two beautiful cats, and there would be that many more abused and homeless animals out there in. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can- there is no such thing as too small an amount!
