Marcus Ball is raising money for Bowel Cancer UK

GB Ultras Manchester to Liverpool 50 Mile Ultra · 3 April 2026 ·

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

Hi my name is Marcus and I am taking on the GBUltra 50 miles (80km) from Manchester to Liverpool in support of bowel cancer, a cause that’s now incredibly close to my heart and many others.

A friend of mine has recently lost his battle to stage 4 bowel cancer at the age of 29 years.

RIP T/Tig (03/02/2026) ❤️

It was only a few months ago that we went on a long 30km run around the Wirral together in preparation for this race.

This was his race, his ticket and his goal was to finish in the top 200 and earn a gold medal. Sadly, he can no longer take part, so I’m running in his place, carrying his ambition with me every step of the way.

This will be a huge challenge for me, but it’s nothing compared to what T, his family and loved ones have faced.

I’ll be giving everything i have over these next few months to help me get over that finish line and, hopefully, bring that gold medal back for him and make him proud 🥇

Any support or donation, no matter how small, truly means the world.

Thank you
