Story

Hi everyone, thanks for coming to this page.

As many of you know, my Dad, Chris, died from cancer in 2016. It has been ten whole years. Crazy.

One of my last conversations with him was about how I'd just started running and how he was proud of me for that. Days later, he could no longer speak, and I will now forever cherish that as one of our last conversations. Some part of me knows it was meant to unfold that way, as painful as it was.

In the weeks and months after his passing, I used running as a vice to keep me grounded, to help me regulate my nervous system, and to find connection with him. I've never stopped. It has kept me connected with him all these years later.

In 2020, this passion escalated, and I started running every day. One day at a time with no plan or end goal. Six years later, we are nearly reaching 2,000 days of running every day. 2,000 whole days!

This run streak has enriched my life in so many ways. I have made lifelong friends, met so many inspiring people, learned so much about myself, and have now created a business from it, trying to help other people like me, through The Mood Booster.

To mark the occasion, I ought to bloody celebrate. So 21st June (incidentally Father's day in England) is the official date of run streak 2,000. I hope to raise £2,000 for the hospice that cared for him in his final weeks, Prospect Hospice. The care and compassion he received was incredible, and helped all of us take a little bit of comfort in a really difficult time, knowing he was being cared for well.

I will be arranging a fun run (5KM) with some giveaways on 21st June itself (in Hyde Park, London) starting 11 AM from the Italian Cafe (next to Lancaster Gate Station), and would love you to join in the celebration.

I know my Dad would be incredibly proud of this achievement, and how I have brought it beyond just running every day, into The Mood Booster, and beyond. A part of him lives on through this.

I think I ought to celebrate it with him in mind and with as many of you who want to join.

So, let's raise £2,000 for 2,000 days!

Thank you and big love to all.
