Story
Hi. I'm Christopher. I was born with a condition called Craniosynostosis. When I was 6 years old, I had an operation at the John Radcliffe children’s hospital where my skull was removed, reshaped and reattached. It was really scary. I now have a large zigzag scar across my head from ear to ear, covered by really long hair. I stayed on a ward with loads of kids with a wide range of serious illnesses and conditions, including some kids who had no hair. I have had to go to many appointments to check that I am still okay. Every time, I see lots of young people on the wards who are ill, but I am doing well. This is why I want to help them.
I am having my hair cut and sent to Little Princess Trust (https://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/) to be made into a wig for a child with Cancer or a cranio-facial condition so that hopefully they can feel normal. I am lucky. This condition has changed my life, but apart from a scar, I am well. Other kids are not, so I want to try to help them.
If you are willing to donate, I would like to raise some funds for Headlines – Craniofacial Support (https://www.headlines.org.uk/) who help children with a wide range of cranio-facial conditions. It will be put to really good use. Thank you for your support.
